Calibr8 Systems and UTCC Win Honors at 2026 ACES Awards
On October 19, 2026, two recognitions from the 2026 ACES Awards, the Asian award dedicated to leadership and business excellence, were announced in two press releases distributed by Media OutReach. David Honorio Lim III, founder and Chief Vision Officer of Calibr8 Systems, received the Leading Technopreneur in Asia award. The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) earned three recognitions in as many categories. The awards ceremony was held on October 15 and 16, 2026, at the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The technopreneur behind Calibr8 Systems
According to Calibr8’s press release, Lim’s award recognizes the building of Calibr8 Systems as a company driven by entrepreneurial conviction, industry relevance and ambition for growth. Lim has over 25 years of experience across Information Technology and Operational Technology, with a background in business development, solution architecture and process engineering, and experience on platforms from OSIsoft, Cisco, Microsoft and HP.
Calibr8 Systems started as a Philippine company with the stated goal of “powering a sustainable world with data.” Under Lim’s leadership it has expanded to Malaysia, Singapore and the United States, and it intends to move into other international markets. The company serves asset-intensive sectors such as energy, water and manufacturing. Its solutions, according to the release, unify fragmented systems and turn operational data into actionable information, with real-time visibility into operations.
Calibr8 also maintains that real-time operational data help clients improve energy efficiency, optimize resource use and reduce waste, and it presents itself as a partner toward net zero through system integration, training and managed services.
UTCC and the three awards of the 2026 edition
According to UTCC’s press release, the university received three recognitions: Premier Educational Institutions in Asia, the Nation Builder Award and Outstanding Leaders in Asia. The latter was awarded to the university’s president, associate professor Thanavath Phonvichai. Founded in 1963 by the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the university is based in Bangkok, presents itself as Thailand’s best private university and states that 92% of its graduates find employment within a year.
According to the release, the university has the highest number of Google-certified generative AI instructors in Thailand and has held Apple Distinguished School status for 15 consecutive years. Its link to the business world runs through the network of 263,785 members of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, which puts students in direct contact with the country’s companies.
Under Phonvichai’s leadership the university reports its highest enrollment in 19 years and its best financial results in over 60 years. Phonvichai founded the university’s Center for Economic and Business Forecasting. The Nation Builder Award recognizes his contribution to national development through RIECE Thailand, an early childhood program in rural communities.
“These recognitions belong to our students, our faculty, and the entire Thai Chamber of Commerce community,” Phonvichai said. “They affirm our belief that combining academic excellence with hands-on practice can prepare future-ready graduates while helping to build a stronger nation.”
